FAQs

What is the purpose of this site?

The initial purpose was to gather like minded people together to share in the RAGBRAI experience. However, we are expanding the idea to include a variety of activities, including other cycling events, hiking and rock climbing.

I have never been on RAGBRAI, what do I do?

1. Join our Team Skeptic Community.
2. Go to www.ragbrai.org and sign up as an individual rider.
3. You can either just use the services provided by RAGBRAI or use Ron Oman Charters.

-There is no need to mention Team Skeptic to Ron Oman Charters. I think that might make it more confusing. If you want, you can tell him that you heard about their charter service through me (Matt Ladwig).

Do I have to use Ron Oman Charters?

No, you do not have to use a charter service. We could just meet up each day during the ride. The daily baggage service to transport your bags and tent to the camping towns is included when you register and pay as a rider for RAGBRAI. However, even after you sign up for RAGBRAI, you still have to find a means of transportation to the starting town and from the end of the ride back to the airport (or wherever you need to be dropped off). I have used Ron's charter service in the past and I highly recommend them.

What is it like on RAGBRAI?

Each morning plan on waking up by six and having your tent down and everything packed by 7am. You leave the camp site and begin the ride for the day. Each day you will ride anywhere from 55 to 95 miles. That may sound like a lot, but you can stop as often as you like. You may want to stop at every beer garden, pie stand or farm slip and slide. The ride is what you make of it. Whether you are on RAGBRAI for the food, partying, socializing, unique experience or just to meet Lance, it is an amazing time.

Please send any questions to info@teamskeptic.org and we will do our best to answer them.
